IMG_7152

We were honored to host Mr. Bistany, CEO of SABIS®, at ISF. During his visit, Mr. Bistany met with our SABIS Student Life Organization® (SLO®) leaders, offering valuable insights and inspiration.

Our SLO® leaders, responsible for enhancing the ISF student experience, had the opportunity to introduce themselves, discuss their roles, and highlight their personal growth and development. They shared how their leadership experiences have honed essential skills, such as teamwork and communication.

A key takeaway from this meeting was the affirmation that the SLO® program is the heart of our school, aligning with SABIS®'s core values. Mr. Bistany's insights reinforced the idea that our students are not only excelling academically but also becoming well-rounded individuals poised to make a positive impact on society.

A Month of Excitement and Achievements at the Sports Academy

As the autumn leaves turned, November at Sports Academy was a flurry of activity and excitement. It marked the peak of our training efforts, leading up to the most action-packed month in our calendar: the German International School Sport Tournament (GISST).

Our dedicated athletes in Cross Country, U14 and Varsity Girls and Boys Football, and Varsity Girls and Boys Volleyball were in top form, fully prepped for the challenges ahead. A whopping 98 students stepped into the arena of GISST competitions this month, showcasing their skills, determination, and team spirit.

It was a month of travel, camaraderie, and competition. Our teams journeyed across Germany, participating in tournaments in cities like Leipzig, Berlin, Duisburg, Ulm, Munich, and Erlangen. Each location brought new experiences and opportunities to shine on the field and court.

As we reflect on the triumphs and learnings of this bustling month, we're filled with pride for our athletes' performances and the unwavering support of our community. We look forward to carrying this momentum forward into our future endeavors.

Stay tuned for more updates and stories of our teams' adventures and achievements!

    Varsity Girls Football

Our Girls’ Varsity football season started the academic year with several girls joining the team and training sessions once a week preparing for the 7-a-side tournament in Cologne in November. The process began with feedback from previous years, and this helped to set up some team objectives for the term and helped gain insight into how to tackle the issues confronted last year. Once the objectives were set, we created a plan to work on during the term. The initial training team was composed of Grade 11 players, two Grade 10 players, and two Grade 9 players.

Training sessions were active, even when the weather started to get cold and rainy. This included physical and technical preparation for the tournament. During these sessions, we were able to work with diverse situations that resembled reality to help our girls be ready. Some of our girls also joined the student’s vs staff match this year in October sharing a moment with the school community.

Towards the end of the season and in preparation for the GISST tournament, we received two new players who joined the team and were a welcome addition to the general structure of our game plans. The last two weeks before the competition we had full training sessions and worked on the strategies we wanted to use in the tournament. During the days of the competition, the team participated in good spirit, showing flexibility and commitment, and representing the school with pride on and off the field in particularly cold and wet conditions.

Overall, the trip was an incredible experience for the team and allowed us to learn and create memories that not only will help their development as players but also as great representatives of our community and lifelong learners. We hope to continue to grow as a team with more players, matches, and competition for young women from ISF in one of the fastest-growing sport in Germany.

Celebrating the 100 Years anniversary of the Republic of Turkey!

We are thrilled to share the joyous occasion of ISF celebrating the 100 Years Anniversary of the Republic of Turkey! 🇹🇷 Our students, with hearts full of curiosity and enthusiasm, embarked on a cultural journey that immersed them in the beauty of Turkish traditions.

Throughout the celebration, our students had the opportunity to explore Turkish culture through books, music, delicious food, refreshing drinks, and captivating art. This immersive experience allowed them to gain a deeper appreciation for the rich heritage of Turkey.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the entire Turkish community at ISF for their invaluable contributions and support in making this event a memorable one. Your dedication to sharing your culture with our students is truly appreciated.

We also want to express our sincere thanks to the PN Parent network for their tireless efforts in coordinating and facilitating this wonderful celebration. Your commitment to fostering cultural exchange within our school community is commendable. Last but not least, a big shout-out to our Student Life Officers (SLO®) for their instrumental role in organizing and ensuring the smooth execution of this fantastic event.

    Diwali Celebration

The Diwali celebration at our school this year was nothing short of spectacular. Our entire community came together, donning colorful and traditional attire that added an extra layer of beauty to the occasion. The campus itself underwent a magical transformation with enchanting decorations that transported us to a world of wonder.

While the visual spectacle was truly captivating, the heart of Diwali lies in its cultural significance. It represents the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and good over evil. It's a time when families and communities unite to celebrate life's joys and share the warmth of togetherness.

However, the real magic of Diwali resided on the stage. The talent showcased by our students, guided by teachers, and community members was absolutely extraordinary. Their performances radiated the brilliance and creativity that Diwali embodies.

Thank you to everyone who played a role in making our Diwali celebration unforgettable.

     Senior Photo Day

As a parent, there are moments that take your breath away, moments no one can prepare you for. Today was one of those days - our little one, who seems to have grown up in the blink of an eye, took their senior photos. Standing there, ready to step into their next chapter, they’re not just a high school senior but a living testament to years of laughter, tears, and endless love.

We’re eagerly awaiting that unforgettable moment when they walk across the stage, diploma in hand, their eyes sparkling with dreams and possibilities.

As the IB exams are fast approaching, we send a heartful message to our beloved seniors: Let your determination and passion fuel your journey. You’ve got this, and we’ve got you, always.

We came together for a memorable Thanksgiving potluck at our school. It was a delightful event filled with delicious dishes and heartwarming moments. Our parents truly outdid themselves with the incredible array of dishes they brought to share. Each bite was a taste of the love and effort that went into preparing these dishes.

Moreover, what truly made this event special was the sense of community and friendship that permeated the atmosphere. Seeing parents gather not only as caregivers but as friends, sharing stories, laughter, and even recipes, was heartwarming. It's moments like these that remind us of the bonds we are building within our school community.

wertheim village

Wertheim village shopping trip is back. Our parents had the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing day of shopping for holiday gifts before the festive season kicked in. They also relished the joy of spending quality time with one another. The camaraderie and connections formed during the trip were truly heartwarming, and it showcased the strong sense of community we have within our group.

What does the Parent Network do, and should I join?

The Parent Network coordinates activities for students, parents, families, and ISF faculty. Here are a handful of examples to give you an idea of why you should join the ISF Parent Network! For our students, the PN organizes holiday parties and treats decorates campus for seasons and holidays, runs a school supplies shop and student recognition program, supports the preschool, grade 4, and grade 12 graduations, and sponsors cultural celebrations that delight and educate.

For parents, we host a monthly parent Morning Mingle and social events like workouts and day trips. Last year we held our first Flohmarkt (flea market) where parents set up booths and sold their unwanted items. For families, we offer weekend meet-ups and our annual international food festival called “Taste of the World.”
We hope you will join the Parent Network to see more of what we are about! Membership is free; just fill out and return our one-page application which can be found on the ISF Parent Page: https://www.isf.sabis.net/parents-page
Please Join our WhatsApp Community

This year, our Parent Network moderated WhatsApp groups have transitioned to a WhatsApp “Community.” There are some wonderful benefits of this change, as now you can see all of the available groups using just one join link. Our Community has an announcement group for information relevant to everyone and continues to offer a chat group for each grade level. There are other groups to choose from as well, such as our Dance Group, PN Volunteers, Champions Club (parents supporting the Sports Academy), and more. We will continue to add groups based on your interests and recommendations.
