Sports Academy will organize a Winter Sport Camp at ISF facilities during the winter break week (from February 12th to 16th) for all our students from KG to G5. Different sports activities such as swimming, gymnastics, and different team sports, dances, and games will be held every day in a schedule from 8:00 to 16:00 (flexible times for those who requested: late start, early leave, or extended day until 16:30). The price per student is 350 euros for the whole week (5 days). There is no reduced price for those students who will not attend all days or reduced time a day. The school will not provide lunch service, so the students will have to bring their own food from home.

Registration is open until December 26th! Don't miss your place! On December 27th we will confirm with all the students that have decided to sign up, as well as inform them how to make the payment to finalize their enrollment.

     ISF Music Winter Concert

This month, our school community came together to celebrate the magical sounds of the season at our annual Winter Concert. The event was a harmonious blend of performances from our Kindergarten and preschool, Primary, and Middle School students. On stage, our young musicians and performers showcased their incredible talents, captivating the audience with their passion and skill.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the parents and family members who joined us, making the evening even more special. Your presence and support mean the world to us and our students. For those who missed the live performance or wish to relive the wonderful moments, we invite you to click the link below to watch the concert again. Experience the beauty and energy of our students' performances from the comfort of your home.

Our Music Department deserves a special mention for their dedication and hard work. They have been instrumental in nurturing the confidence of our students and instilling the discipline required for practice and performance. Their guidance and encouragement have helped our young artists shine brightly on stage.

We are immensely proud of every student who participated. Their hard work, commitment, and enthusiasm were evident in every note played and every song sung. This concert was not just a display of musical talent, but a celebration of the spirit of our school community. Thank you once again to everyone who made this event a success. Here's to many more melodious and joyful moments together!

    GISST Champions
JUFE8271

It's that time of year again! This past weekend, our boys' varsity volleyball team traveled to Erlangen to take part in our annual GISST. After the group stage, we came out of our group in 2nd place, losing only one match out of five.  In the semi-finals, we faced the home team, who hadn't lost a single game. In two sets, we won the match and moved on to the finals to play the only team who had beaten us in the group stage. With their incredible talent, team spirit, and determination, we defeated BBIS in two sets! This is THE MOST committed, motivated, talented, and determined team I have EVER had the pleasure of coaching. These boys are amazing, and I am so proud to be their coach.

🥇🏆🏐2023 GISST CHAMPIONS! 🏐🏆🥇

*FUN FACT 1: Due to time constraints, there was no award ceremony. *FUN FACT 2: Due to shipping delays, we also didn't get our trophy or medals. The host school used an old trophy from their cupboard, peeled off its label, and glued on a paper one. Our medals are pieces of paper attached to a ribbon. Hence there are no photos at an awards presentation. We'll hopefully receive them in the mail soon. More pics to come...

--Coach Ms. Treppenhauer

Our school badminton teams traveled to Hannover and Duisburg over the past three days to compete in their annual GISST tournaments. This year we had our most successful GISST showing ever, with three teams, U14 Boys, Varsity Boys, and Varsity Girls winning their respective championships. The U14 girls also earned a very close second-place finish. After a year of dedicated bi-weekly training and numerous local competitions, I am happy to announce that we, again, did very well and are looking forward to building the program for next year's events!

     Tree Lighting Ceremony

Our choir and string ensemble were honored to perform at the Tree Lighting Ceremony at Frankfurt Airport Marriott.

34 talented students from 9 different countries brought their best to the stage, mesmerizing the audience. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of them. The growth and confidence they gain from public performances like this are immeasurable. A huge thank you to Marriott for not only providing us with this wonderful opportunity but also for supporting our charity project. It was an evening to remember!

     Weihnachtsmarkt Magic: A Community Celebration!

This year’s annual Weihnachtsmarkt was nothing short of spectacular, marking a new milestone in our community’s festive celebrations. Organized collaboratively by the Student Life Organization Social Responsibility department , the event saw its largest ever turnout, both in terms of vendors and visitors.

A standout feature of this year’s event was the remarkable involvement of our high school students. They didn’t just participate; they were at the heart of the Weihnachtsmarkt, running their own booths with enthusiasm and professionalism. It was a joy to see them engage with the community, showcasing their talents and hard work.

The atmosphere was electric, filled with the warmth of community spirit and the joy of the holiday season. The laughter, conversations, and shared experiences created a sense of unity and celebration that truly embodied the spirit of Weihnachten.

The holiday season of helping those in need through our donation to Deutsches Rotes Kreuz and other charities will be greatly appreciated this time of year. The presence of everyone truly brought warmth and a merry, festive atmosphere to our school, welcoming the Christmas spirit. Thank you SLO Deputy Head Yoonseo Lee G11.

Fantastic News from Grade 8 Student

Last weekend we got pleasant news from German Chess Federal who notified our grade 8 student Lloyd to join the German national team. He will play for Germany for example for World Cup and/or European Cup in 2024.

Early this year, Lloyd took part in the German Amateur Chess Championship on the weekend of March 2, 2023 to March 5, 2023. Lloyd was eligible to play in the B tournament (DWZ 1900-2100) according to his skill level. This was the second-highest tournament of the amateur championship. He was ranked as the 39th participant based on his pre-tournament rating. Lloyd played a good tournament and had the opportunity to play against stronger players in all 5 rounds. He managed to win one game, draw two, and lose two games. The reward for this was a place in midfield and a better 29th place.

Our parent community embarked on an exciting trip to the Wertheim Village. This excursion, organized right before the holidays, offered a perfect opportunity for parents to unwind, socialize, and indulge in some holiday shopping.

The trip was not just about shopping; it was a chance for parents to connect with each other outside the usual school environment. In the midst of the bustling village, friendships were strengthened and new ones were formed. The relaxed atmosphere allowed for conversations and shared experiences, adding to the community spirit of our school.

We came together for a memorable Thanksgiving potluck at our school. It was a delightful event filled with delicious dishes and heartwarming moments. Our parents truly outdid themselves with the incredible array of dishes they brought to share. Each bite was a taste of the love and effort that went into preparing these dishes.

Moreover, what truly made this event special was the sense of community and friendship that permeated the atmosphere. Seeing parents gather not only as caregivers but as friends, sharing stories, laughter, and even recipes, was heartwarming. It's moments like these that remind us of the bonds we are building within our school community.

What does the Parent Network do, and should I join?

The Parent Network coordinates activities for students, parents, families, and ISF faculty. Here are a handful of examples to give you an idea of why you should join the ISF Parent Network! For our students, the PN organizes holiday parties and treats decorates campus for seasons and holidays, runs a school supplies shop and student recognition program, supports the preschool, grade 4, and grade 12 graduations, and sponsors cultural celebrations that delight and educate.

For parents, we host a monthly parent Morning Mingle and social events like workouts and day trips. Last year we held our first Flohmarkt (flea market) where parents set up booths and sold their unwanted items. For families, we offer weekend meet-ups and our annual international food festival called “Taste of the World.”
We hope you will join the Parent Network to see more of what we are about! Membership is free; just fill out and return our one-page application which can be found on the ISF Parent Page: https://www.isf.sabis.net/parents-page
Please Join our WhatsApp Community

This year, our Parent Network moderated WhatsApp groups have transitioned to a WhatsApp “Community.” There are some wonderful benefits of this change, as now you can see all of the available groups using just one join link. Our Community has an announcement group for information relevant to everyone and continues to offer a chat group for each grade level. There are other groups to choose from as well, such as our Dance Group, PN Volunteers, Champions Club (parents supporting the Sports Academy), and more. We will continue to add groups based on your interests and recommendations.
