Join us at our school campus this summer for our annual Summer School Program open to ISF and non-ISF students in Kindergarten to Grade 6.

Kindergarten / Preschool
Summer Program
 

Our Kindergarten and Preschool children stay in the school’s Kindergarten area with a teacher and an assistant. They have some free playtime on our Kindergarten playground but also engage in learning activities such as counting, numbers, reading, phonics, and singing in both English and German. In the afternoon there are games, field trips, and activities.

Grade 1-6 Program

The Grade 1-6 program is divided into morning and afternoons. The mornings at summer school can either be spent in the academic program or in the themed week activities. In the afternoon there are games, field trips, and activities.

Academic Program

The academic program includes the subjects English, German, and Mathematics. The program will reinforce what the students have been learning and help strengthen their academic foundation in these subjects, making them feel more confident of their capabilities and ready for the next year.

 Themed Weeks

Week 1: 
Art: Movement
 June 27 - July 1 

  • Understand how to depict movement in visual art.
  • Create projects to express the sensation of movement.
  • Experiment with materials such as oil and chalk pastel, charcoal, and paint.

 Week 2:
Art: Light
 July 4 - 8 

  • Investigate the effects of light, such as showing shadows, describing form using contrast with blending, and establishing temperature.
  • Learn how to use color as well as black and white media. 
  • Create projects including painting and drawing with some material exploration.

Week 3:
Science: Biodiversity, Environment, and Pollution
 July 11 - 15 

  • Discover the biodiversity that surrounds us.
  • Analyze the environment in which we live and the factors that affect it.
  • Take part in activities including reusing materials, homemade resources, making your school greener, recycling, gardening, "reduce, reuse, & recycle".

Week 4:
Science: The Animal World

 July 18 - 22 

  • Discover the animal world with its different species, classifications, and animal curiosities.
  • Take part in craft activities, experiments, painting, quizzes, games, and much more. 
  • Have fun and take home a piece of what was learned during the week.
