Join us at our school campus this summer for our annual Summer School Program open to ISF and non-ISF students in Kindergarten to Grade 6.

Kindergarten / Preschool
Summer Program
 

Our Kindergarten and Preschool children stay in the school’s Kindergarten area with a teacher and an assistant. They have some free playtime on our Kindergarten playground but also engage in learning activities such as counting, numbers, reading, phonics and singing in both English and German. In the afternoon there are games, field trips and activities.

Grade 1-6 Program

The Grade 1-6 program is divided into morning and afternoons. The mornings of summer school can either be spent in the academic program or in the themed week activities. In the afternoon there are games, field trips and activities.

Academic Program

The academic program includes the subjects English, German, and Mathematics. The program will reinforce what the students have been learning and help strengthen their academic foundation in these subjects, making them feel more confident of their capabilities and ready for the next year.

Week 1: 
The Tropics Art
 June 28 - July 2 

  • Explore tropical environments and interpret their navigation with some creative responses
  • Experiment with painting, drawing, and 3D sculpting
  • Engage with individual interest within the theme daily
  • Visit environments, cultures, and habitats

 Week 2:
The Desert Art
 July 5 - 9 

  • Explore the desert landscape and respond individually with expressive discoveries
  • Experiment with a new medium daily
    (drawing, painting, and 3D materials)
  • Visit the desert environment, cultures that inhabit these areas, as well as animals and fauna

Week 3:
The Solar System Science
 July 12 - 16 

  • Learn interesting facts about the planets and the solar system
  • Build a simple model of the solar system
  • Explore outer space
  • Discover the asteroid belt
  • Model the night sky
  • Understand extreme weather on Earth and other planets
  • Explore life in space: The International Space Station
  • Watch interesting and informative videos
  • Participate in a variety of computer activities

Week 4:
Forces Science

 July 19 - 23 

  • Understand different kinds of forces
  • Explore why some objects sink while other float
  • Build a bridge from plastic straws that can hold a cup of marbles
  • Build a simple boat and test how much it can hold before if sinks
  • Watch interesting and informative videos
  • Participate in a variety of computer activities
